Why Connect a Group?
Officially activate Noyo for enrollment and eligibility fulfillment
Connecting a group results in a live link between an employer group and a carrier through Noyo, so that Noyo can transmit that group’s enrollment changes. When a group connection request has been submitted, we’ll automatically start looking for the group’s data in the carrier’s system and, if needed, start generating mapping rules for the group. When a group connection is complete
, any member snapshot you send that includes the group/carrier pair will be fulfilled with the carrier.
Deprecated workflow
Customers who do not use Noyo’s dynamic configuration and mapping features will start their workflow with the group connection request, rather than with group creation.
Groups for Sync and Send carriers are connected via the same general process, though some of the steps and turnaround times will differ. Noyo can support situations where no employees are enrolled yet and their first enrollments pass through our system or the employees are all already enrolled.
When to connect a group
You should connect the group when you’re ready to activate fulfillment through Noyo, which can also mean switching from an existing fulfillment method. Most of our customers prefer to do this well before or just after OE to ensure the smoothest client experience.
You will need the group’s carrier-specific identifier (known as the carrier_group_id
in the Noyo system) to connect a group for fulfillment. This ID is generally issued when the group’s coverage application is finished and approved by the carrier, and the format and name can differ across carriers; learn more on each carrier’s page in the Noyo app.
Group connections cannot be completed until the carrier has finished installing all the group’s account structure and plans in their system. We will re-try requests if the carrier is not ready yet, but in some cases there may be additional authorization needed as well. A status for each group connection is available in the API response or in the Noyo app (where you can also trigger a retry and amend information).
After a group is connected
Once a group connection request’s status moves to completed
, the group is considered connected through Noyo.
This means we’ve successfully found the group in the carrier’s system, pulled in all available account structure, group-, plan-, and member-level data into our system, written and tested mapping rules if needed, and done an initial comparison of data for Sync connections.
Any snapshots sent for a connected group will be analyzed for changes, and those changes will be transmitted to the carrier.
